I just picked up Sarah's 3 month pictures and am still in disbelieve that it has already been almost 4 months since I had this precious girl! Sarah has some new milestones. She is always smiling and is starting to laugh. She has a super contagious laugh just like Kyle did when he was and infant. Kyle still has a great belly laugh that just makes you laugh when you hear it. I am sure that Sarah's will be the same way. These three months have seemed to blow by and I have since returned to work. It was a nice time off and I enjoyed spending every minute with the kids. The transition made me a little nervous but so far it has been OK. Everything seems to be working out great (knock on wood)! Pat stays home during the day and they seem to have a great time just playing and hanging out. Since Pat & I do not see a whole lot of each other during the week days, we try to cherish every second on the weekend to make the most of family time.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://lesliechapman.blogspot.com/2011/04/3-months-already.html' title='3 Months .. He has a new word that he loves to use every day. For example yesterday was spoon. He is saying full phrases almost sentences and I am in awe that he can just pick up on things so fast. Other milestones for Kyle are he can count to 12 and can pick out most of the letters when he is shown the alpahbet. He has re-discovered that he LOVES to be outside. Our neighborhood makes this a hard thing. We live on a Cul-de-Sac and have a ton of children on our block. We also have on our street a grade school with a couple of playscapes and a ton of swings. We try to get outside as much as possible but since our LONG winter seems to still not be over it's been hard. He loves to watch outside when all the older kids are playing and he always is talking to them. His new thing is to grab his coat and put it on and tell me "outside"... It breaks my heart when he cannot go! Oh it will be a long few years... but still very convenient that we do not have to go very far for him to play! :-) The biggest question I get asked these days is "How does he like being a big brother?" I love this question because I really think that he likes it. We often talk about the baby and he is constantly checking on her. Every now and then he wants to hold her and I know he secretly cannot wait till the day that they can actually play together. Last night he wanted to hold her while he rode down the hall on his push bike.. Oh boy.. I cannot wait! :-) Kyle has take the transition well in my opinion and I personally think that Kyle IS a great big brother!

Another Boy.. that Makes Another Nephew!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-AvP66FQ33hc/TZyacQWWzJI/AAAAAAAABoc/KxOo-20cmEk/s320/DSC_0263.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5592514647503064210" />
Yay.. so not only was I blessed this winter with another child but my sister was as well. I found out sometime in May that I was pregnant with my 2nd child. Sarah Renee was born on December 16, 2010 @ 11:27AM. She weighed in at 6 pounds 11oz. and was a healthy baby girl. I was due on December 27 but was scheduled for induction on December 23. I have high blood pressure and my doctor monitored my pregnancy accordingly. She induced me with Kyle and had the same intention with Sarah, but she decided to come on her own naturally. I am glad it happened this way. On the night of the 15th I started to have contractions that were about 10 minutes apart. Not having gone into labor last time I was unsure if this was the time or not. I called the hospital nurses station and told them the deal. They told me to take a hot shower and rest for awhile to see if they go away. This seeemed to work for awhile. I woke up around 4:30am on the 16th to what seemed to be stronger contrations and they were 8 minutes apart. I remember laying in bed thinking let me just try to sleep and see if they go away... no not really. So I got everyone up and ready. Called my dad to see if we could drop Kyle off and abruptly packed the car to go to the hospital. I was nervous but excited as it seemed the contractions were gettting to be about 5 minutes apart when we dropped Kyle off. The hospital thank God is only a five minute drive. As soon as we arrived we were sent to triage and hooked to the monitors. I could not believe that it was happening so fast. I was in a lot of pain but not too uncomfortable. I went from a 2 to a 5 in a little over a half hour. My doctor was surprised when she seen me in the hospital that morning. Thank gooodness she was there for a meeting to begin with. Everything after that went really fast and I gave birth to Sarah right before lunch! :-) My birth story with Sarah was fast and not too eventful. I was just super happy for it to be a mild ride and have a healthy baby girl. Cool little tidbits about Sarah.. she was born with tons of hair. She has eyelashes that would make any grown woman jealous. She is so far a super sweet baby!

Santa Visit Second Time Around (2010)

When you hear Santa you think the many joys that Christmas brings.. usually. This year I heard Santa was in town and immediately cringed... I knew that we were going to have to go sit on the big guys lap and try to go down that road again. This year instead of waiting in line at the outdoor mall I decided to take Kyle to Taylor's Christmas display. I had not been there in a few years but remembered that it was really a nice display and Kyle might dig all the scenery before sitting on the dreaded Santa lap! ... duh duh duh I was correct Kyle loved all the winter scenery and houses. He loved all the moving animals and elfs, especially the elfs that fished! The line for Santa was long and I was very nervous wondering if Kyle was going to even get within ten feet of Santa after last year. I was wrong... He loved it. Ms. Klaus was there and talked Kyle throught the whole thing. Here is the proof..

Kyle meet Chucky.. Kyle has officially been to Chuck E Cheese... That great pizza restaurant that we all went to as children. The one we loved running around until we felt like we were going to be sick. Yep .. that's the one. It's still around and so are the many toddlers and school age children who love pizza, pop and those all so famous tokens that buy you $.25 plastic toys. We were invited to a Chuck E Cheese party for by BF's little girl this past weekend. Kyle was overwhelmed with excitement. He acted just as I suspected from the time we got there until the "I do not want to go home" fit at the end. We usually add a bunch of fun blood and gore to our front lawn. We used to celebrate with other adults and pass out candy. These Halloweens are different. Fun... but different. Now that Kyle is here it is extra fun to carve pumpkins visit apple orchards and do everything that you are supposed to do when you are a kid during Halloween. This Halloween was a little different. Kyle was a little more into it this year he liked his tiger costume and loved trick-or-treating. Brody (Kyle's cousin) was able to spend Halloween with us this year. We went trick-or-treating at the mall. We were also able to go to the park and decorate pumpkins and take a hay ride. On Halloween we actually went through the neighborhoods trick-or-treating! Super fun..

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 169px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-88pZonwlt4w/TZ82Nvp34II/AAAAAAAABos/opwvWAYcBEI/s320/untitled3.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5593248871975739522" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 215px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-snE6vAzFN2U/TZ82NXgCDPI/AAAAAAAABok/olmQbHaS_6I/s320/untitled1.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5593248865492012274" />

Football Rivalry

When the leaves turn colors and it starts to get a little cooler out that is when it is time for some FOOTBALL. Now in our house we typically are not die hard fans about any particular sport. We do not religiously watch Sunday Football games or Monday night football, but everybody loves a little competition. Pat and I have always watched the one game a year when Michigan plays Michigan State. Pat favors Michigan and I am a State fan! This has been this way since day one and probably will be this way until our kids go to college. This day always is ugly with the verbal beat downs but its all for the love of the game and our state. Now that Kyle is involved we have decided that he will not be able to wear one team or the other but a little of both... so this year here is his football fan photo. .. Kyle is now a little older and really might start getting into the animals and the scenery that a Zoo has to offer. Since I myself have not been to the Zoo since I was a child I was not sure which Zoo we should take him two. We have two that are about the same distance from us. The Detroit Zoo which is located in Royal Oak and the one we decided on for our first visit. We also have the Toledo Zoo which is in Toldeo, OH. We figure that we will probably be visiting the Zoo more so we can go to that one later. The day was great! We were able to make it through most all the exhibits. The only one that we did not get to see any animals at was the Polar Bears. We figured that it was too hot for them, but I am sure that we will be able to catch them in the future. I was very impressed by the Zoo. Very clean and alot of fun things for children of all ages to do. We will definately be goin back in the future!

Santa

Now that Kyle is one... it was the true test to see if he was going to like or dislike Santa. Kyle celebrated his first birthday this past week. I cannot believe that the time has gone by so fast. Watching my little man from being a tiny little baby and then watching him fly around in his walker. We decided to have Kyle's party at American Pie in Taylor. It is an all you can eat pizza buffet with a party room. Most of Kyle's friends at this age are a little too small for Chuck E Cheese or places of this sort. We did arrange for Elmo to show up (Mom & Aunt Andrea) and of course he was the hit of the party. We love FALL!

I love fall and it is even more special now that I can share it with Kyle. We started by visiting the apple orchard and getting to carve pumpkins. We also made baby purees out of fall harvst foods like butternut squash, green beans, and sweet potatoes. All of which seem to be good foods with Kyle. Kyle is going to be a giraffe for Halloween. Dad picked out his costume from The Children's Place and it is super cute! I took Kyle around the neighborhood and did trick or treating. We went to a handful of houses and came back since he really cannot eat any candy any way. This Halloween was for moms benefit more than anything. To see my little boy all dressed up and I was able to get candy to boot! :-) Next year Kyle will be able to walk and trick or treat so it will be a little more for him!

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://lesliechapman.blogspot.com/2009/11/happy-halloween-we-love-fall.html' title='Happy Halloween.. Every day I can see that he is growing and learning. I can tell how he concentrates on certain things like the wheels on his cars turning and how flipping pages in his book that he is going to be a "thinker". I coined this phrase from Dr. Debbie at our 9 month appointment. Kyle is now 17 pounds and 21 inches and growing at a normal pace.

Tennessee Family Vacation (A week of Firsts)

Every year we travel to Waverly, TN to visit Pat's family. This year was Kyle's very first time to TN, and he loved every minute of it. I was a little worried about traveling that far with Kyle, but he did real well. Of course it took a couple of rest areas to get the whole thing down we did great. We left on Saturday and traveled to Louisville, KY where we stopped and spent the night a a Hyatt (of course). Saturday night we went down to 4th Street Live where they have all the night life. We took Kyle to his first Hard Rock. We did not eat there, but did buy him his first Hard Rock T-shirt. We ate at a place called Red Star Tavern outside on the patio. Kyle was able to sit in the high chair for the first time and of course thought it was a wonderful experience! He procede to bang on the table, laugh and yell. After dinner we walked around down town and just took in all the sights. We had a great night sleep and started on our way to TN Sunday morning. Kyle did well again for this leg of the trip. We arrived at our destination around 3pm. Waverly is appox. 70 miles west of Nashville. We had a great relaxing week of fun and lots of food. Kyle had his first bath on the porch in a dish pan..LOL Kyle also went swimming for the very first time and he loved it so much. He was kicking and laughing.

8 Months

Kyle is 8 months old and raring to go! He is getting around like a champ. He is not yet crawling but sure finds ways to get from point A to B. He has opened his first cupboard of course under my watch. I have started to baby proof but can already tell that I will be needing to go over things by crawling around. He sits up and plays really well and loves to travel around in his walker. He really loves to bang his toys on other toys and make tremendous amounts of noise. Our new thing is talking. We started about two weeks ago with "ba ba ba" that turned in "Bob" and into "da da da". Now he talks and just random sounds and words come out. He will be a talker that is for sure, because he can go on for hours. Kyle is enjoying the end of summer and really still loves to go on walks and swing at the park. We are enjoying everything we can because my little baby is now turning into a big boy. :-)

Summertime 2009

Summer has been great so far.. Kyle is getting more and more animated every day. He seems to be getting so big fast, but yet everyone warned me that would happen. We do not go back to the doctor until Sept. for his 9 month appointment. I know that he has grown a couple of inches and gained a couple of pounds for sure. We have graduated to stage 2 foods and still have not found one we do not like. I myself am surprised at all the different baby foods that are out there. We have even started to buy some stage threes because 8 months is coming up quick and I want to be prepared. During the summer I can and garden so I am pretty excited to get to the farm market and make some fresh veggie varieties for Kyle.

Last week my nephew, and Kyle's cousin Brody turned ONE! Happy Birthday Brody! We had lots of fun at his birthday party. There was a bubble machine and lots of toys to play with. Kyle was able to swing for the first time in a baby swing and he absolutely loved it. Brody had a Nemo themed party that my sister did a wonderful job on.

We are headed to Tennessee on vacation and this will be our first road trip with Kyle. Pat's mom has not seen Kyle since March so she has a big boy surprise when we get there. We will be stopping and staying in Louisville to break up the trip. Pat and I have done this now the last few years that we have gone down to visit, and it works out great. This year we are excited to go to the Slugger Museum and get Kyle his first engraved bat! We will post all about the vacation once we get back. This vacation will be primarily for resting and relaxing. This will also be Kyle's first swimming pool experience, we have the new baby float and plenty of sunscreen packed up and ready to go.

Below I posted the video of Kyle in the baby swing. My new mission to find all parks with baby swings!

<embed src="http://www.youtube.com/get_player" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"width="320" height="266" bgcolor="#FFFFFF"flashvars="flvurl=http://v12.nonxt4.googlevideo.com/videoplayback?id%3Dd61bdc0bbf530ddc%26itag%3D5%26app%3Dblogger%26ip%3D0.0.0.0%26ipbits%3D0%26expire%3D1330121696%26sparams%3Did,itag,ip,ipbits,expire%26signature%3D34BFC03C395B29EF0FF4048D60EE7F54741BA83F.2147A52F4FE26B0448D07B95E71FCB64FF6FC627%26key%3Dck1&iurl=http://video.google.com/ThumbnailServer2?app%3Dblogger%26contentid%3Dd61bdc0bbf530ddc%26offsetms%3D5000%26itag%3Dw160%26sigh%3DEMtAIzm9Yu-G9y7VWz7CbUIfutY&autoplay=0&ps=blogger"allowFullScreen="true" />

7 Months Old

Kyle is 7 months and growing like a weed. He laughs out loud at most things. He is super ticklish! I mean all over too. His neck belly and sides are the worst and his feet can be depending on the time. We are not crawling yet but we can roll and scoot like crazy. It should not be very long now. He loves to play on the blanket with his stacker toys and blocks. We love to investigate all objects and put them right into our mouth.

We are sitting pretty good, but still a little wobbley. Kyle's favorite thing by far is his bouncer. We love to move the parts so the animals will make sounds and we love to jump up and down in it. He is really starting to show his personality. I can not tell you how much he smiles and really likes to laugh. There is not too much that we cry about, just if we bump our head while rolling around on the floor or if he is hungry. He loves to play with all of his toys and is very inquisitive as to how they work. I have been told that he is a "thinker"! Now that it is getting hot we are pulling out all the new outfits since we do not fit in the 3-6 months anymore. We went to our recent doctors visit and we are now 16lbs. 15 ounces (you might as well call that 17lbs) and 25.5 inches. Doctor says we are growing at a normal rate. We can now start stage 2 foods andwe should be crawling, sitting and pulling ourselves up on things by our 9month or next appointment. Kyle is doing so many things and fast. In the past couple of weeks we think everything is funny, we roll over in our sleep and like to sleep on our tummy, and we absolutely love to grab noses and hair! We love to talk and talk and talk. Kyle is also really involved in play time. Almost every night we read and he loves to turn the pages... I am not too sure he understands what the story is about but he loves to listen. We love to play with our Fisher Price song toy (I have included a video of floor time right after a bath time) and other random toys we love to put in our mouth now! Come on teeth...:-) He starts to wave and do high 5 but his true love is his bouncer now! Take note on how interactive Kyle is with this toy... he love to bat things around with is left arm! Does this mean we are left handed? That means new flowers, aromatic smells, and lots of sunshine. Already this spring Kyle and I have been on a few walks, sat in the thick green grass and have done hours of rocking on the porch. I love spring and I have plenty of plans for Kyle and I this spring since it is his first. Amongst those plans I have decided that it is time to do some "spring cleaning". I am preparing for a garage sale. It will be 6 years that we have been in our house this Aug. and it is definately time to get rid of some stuff. I am excited to get some room back in our house!
It is also time to plan the annual garden. In a week or two my friends and I will venture to the nursery's to buy our garden plants. The garden is ready and just needs to be tilled. I am excited for when Kyle will be able to help mommy plant and take care of the garden. I remember doing this when I was younger with my grandparents and I know that Kyle will enjoy it too! :-)

*(Photo by Leticia Horray/Natural Reflections)

Happy Easter

I cannot believe that it is Easter already! Time sure does fly when you are having fun. We went last weekend and visited the Easter Bunny with Brody, Aunt Andrea, and Gramma. I was not sure what the reaction to the 8 foot tall bunny was going to be and truthfully I was a tad nervous. We did GREAT! The tears did not come until after and it was from being hungry, not the the big scary bunny...LOL! :-) We hope everyone has a lovely Easter~ The Chapman Family

<right>

Official Hospital Announcements

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_2tzF_lx36L8/SgHkRyDrclI/AAAAAAAABHE/3CqgIpkWdGc/s400/Slide1.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5332794427929490002" />

Here are Kyle's hospital picutures and official announcement or how it is viewed on the hospital website. :-)

One Potato, Two Potato, Three Potato...More

This week we tried sweet potatoes for the first time. I think it went really well all things considered. We are going to try a different array of foods and I hope that he likes them all. Pat and I both are not picky eaters and hopefully Kyle will not be either. We have tried the green beans and carrots. He is a pretty big fan of these as well. I of course have included a video of our sweet potato trial! :-)

<embed src="http://www.youtube.com/get_player" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"width="320" height="266" bgcolor="#FFFFFF"flashvars="flvurl=http://v3.nonxt5.googlevideo.com/videoplayback?id%3D23373d4f7feb35c2%26itag%3D5%26app%3Dblogger%26ip%3D0.0.0.0%26ipbits%3D0%26expire%3D1330121696%26sparams%3Did,itag,ip,ipbits,expire%26signature%3D4A9CD95C3B1CE9CB4D130E8E444083979E864D8B.DD5C86FDC0D3005289DF591AAB9296E67247C62%26key%3Dck1&iurl=http://video.google.com/ThumbnailServer2?app%3Dblogger%26contentid%3D23373d4f7feb35c2%26offsetms%3D5000%26itag%3Dw160%26sigh%3Dfi8zUHgfHSTkIanGj2corTPYqxo&autoplay=0&ps=blogger"allowFullScreen="true" />

Mirror Mirror On The Wall ... Kyle seems to find humor in a lot and especially when we sing to him. Recently it is not just a smile or giggle but a belly laugh, and it is the cutest thing you have ever heard. (I of course am partial because it's Kyle! :-)) We cannot figure out if he really likes the songs or he is laughing at how bad we sing...:-) I have really realized that Kyle has some of the funniest smiles and laughes. He seemed from the very beginning to be a happy baby, and catches humor in everything that people do. The best is to see that bright smile first thing in the morning! If you tell Kyle that he is being silly or funny he will laugh at you. A childs smile can truly be a warming in your heart. :-)

My Girlfriends and Our Kids

So....I have this great circle of friends that I have been really close with since high school. I feel like we have known each other forever, all though 20 years is almost forever. We have done tons of stuff together throughout the years and made sure that we kept in contact. More recently we have had children around the same time. Now our weekend get togethers do not include "alley bowling" or clubbing, but we are now moms so it is all about the kids. I am very grateful that it has worked out like it has because its fun getting together with the kids. We will always be the bestest of friends and will definately make tons more memories but now with our babies.

Back To Work

The day has come.... Three months of course flew by, but I enjoyed every minute of it. Kyle and I bonded and had a ton of fun. We used the time to visit with family and friends and could not have asked for a better time off. I was worried that it would be awful to return to work and not be home during the day with Kyle. I think that me making it seem like it would be awful, made it better. It has been a week and everything went well. My dad came and helped us out in between the time Pat and I had to be at work. He still got to do tummy time and bumbo time, and of course ate to his little hearts content...
I upon my return had a great week. Everyone was very excited for me to be back, and yes it was nice to see everyone again. It would be great if I could stay at home with Kyle, but with today's economy and the shaky job market its just not the time to be a one income family. I have come to the realization that I can be just as good of a mom with a full time job. Its the quality of parenting and not the quantity in my opinion! :-) I definately make sure that we spend just as much time doing all the things we used to do and now weekends mean a whole lot more. :-)

Food is Good!

Kyle is now a "supported sitter" and is eating much more these days. I remember going to family functions for holidays and birthdays from the time I was very young. During summers we would get together with our second cousins for annual camping trips and family reunions. Some of these memories still put a smile on my face. We are all a little older now and have our own families and children, but we do try to get together and see each other for holidays. Now that I am older I have come to realize how important family is. I am glad we had the opportunity to be a close family. I now want to make sure that Kyle has this same opportunity. My sister and I were blessed to have boys that are 4.5 months apart, and although they are not very old yet it has been a blast getting them together. I really hope that Kyle and Brody will have many opportunities to make lots of great memories together.

Hand / Eye Coordination

This week Kyle is really noticing his surroundings. He is using his hands to hit the toys on his rocker. It is amazing to watch his actually think, look and then hit an object that he sees. Every day seems to bring a new action. I think that it is an amazing thing to watch how a human learns the smallest things from the very beginning. The ability to react if someone smiles at you to smile back. To laugh at something that you think is funny. Stuff that I have just taken for granted are things that I had to learn too. I know that it will get complex and we will be learning algebra one day, but I will definately enjoy the process that we take to get to that point. I have incuded a little snip it of Kyle playing with his toys.
<embed src="http://www.youtube.com/get_player" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"width="320" height="266" bgcolor="#FFFFFF"flashvars="flvurl=http://v17.nonxt5.googlevideo.com/videoplayback?id%3D82c7dc71f2ecd8bd%26itag%3D5%26app%3Dblogger%26ip%3D0.0.0.0%26ipbits%3D0%26expire%3D1330121696%26sparams%3Did,itag,ip,ipbits,expire%26signature%3D407DD13EA97E8FCB5DC9F048B36641665D5AF426.5E1EB559D986D90E77E2F1BB5A55FE15B4B13689%26key%3Dck1&iurl=http://video.google.com/ThumbnailServer2?app%3Dblogger%26contentid%3D82c7dc71f2ecd8bd%26offsetms%3D5000%26itag%3Dw160%26sigh%3DBshwkVgDQxr3CYYpVtpxDCCI2lY&autoplay=0&ps=blogger"allowFullScreen="true" />

Important Things! :-)

Over the 3 months that I have been home with Kyle we were able to visit with friends and family. The phrase that I have heard over and over "you do not realize how you can love something so much", is so very true. Kids are very special, and in my case he has seemed to make life all so different. I love to wake up and see him every day. I make sure that we make every minute count. I hope you enjoy it as much we did....:-)

O' Holy Night

Christmas was extra special this year with the two new babies in our family. As most of you know my sister had a baby at the end of July and his name is Brody. Brody and Kyle had there first Christmas together as cousins. We visited with their great Grandma Freeman and then spent Christmas Eve night with Gramma Huth. We had snacks, a nice dinner and hung out in our pajamas. Normally our family gets together for Christmas eve, but with all the little ones that were born so close to Christmas this year we did not have it. Hopefully next year we can all get together again.

Christmas day we spent with Pat's family. Traditionally Pat's mom is in Michigan for Christmas, but this year she came around New Years. She was able to meet Kyle and we were still able to celebrate the holidays together. Overall it was definately a wonderful occasion and one to remember. Since Kyle was born 2 weeks before I had a few themed outfits that he was able to wear at Christmas. I made sure that over the corse of two days he was able to wear them all.

Our First Night Home

We departed from Wyandotte Hospital around 6:30PM on Wednesday. I had brought Kyle a winter fram and a couple of outfits for our trip home. I was disappointed that the winter fram that I had picked out did not fit him! Kyle being on the small side when he was born only fit into the newborn pants and the hospital onsie..LOL! We made it work as you can see in the picture above. I was pretty nervous to have no nurses, who by the way were awesome, at home. I was also a little nervous to introduce the new baby to our animals! The introduction did not go bad at all. Shilo our shepherd mix was worse than Kyle the first night. She stayed up the majority of the night watching over him and wimpering! She is now his watch dog and good pal.

My Birth Story

<img style="float:center; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_2tzF_lx36L8/SZOoJnsgYfI/AAAAAAAAAvE/mabjvVg36eU/s200/100_0647.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5301766069573149170" />
<img style="float:center; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_2tzF_lx36L8/SZOoJQD-71I/AAAAAAAAAu8/kZSxXaT7zK8/s200/1209081534a.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5301766063229169490" />

My Birth Story...
December 8, 2008

I went to my 39 week (last) ultrasound at Oakwood Hospital and was told that the baby was progressing just fine but my water was low. I was immediately sent to Wyandotte Hospital to be induced. I remember having a range of emotions driving to the hospital. Everything from excitement to sheer panic. I arrived at Wyandotte, composed myself and got my stuff together that had been in the car already. Thank God for being on top of things! I had called a few people and waited as I was checked in. Pat met me shortly with the remainder of our stuff, he of course was nervous but held his composure very well. My doctor was already at the hospital waiting for me. She told me she was going to take this slow because we were not in an emergency situation. The remainder of that day they had just given me gel and let me get a good night sleep.

December 9, 2008

Six AM came very early as my doctor came in to begin pitocin. I was scared because I had heard that you begin to feel alot of labor pains when they use pitocin. I really did not feel any different until my doctor broke my water at 8:15am. It seemed to go real fast. The onset of contractions followed by more and more pain. I opted for the epidural and of course that did get rid of the contraction pain. My body seemed to want to push with every contraction after that. I remember her telling me that I was ready and the time was now. I only pushed for 16 minutes until I was able to meet my baby boy for the first time. At 1:46 PM Kyle Ryan was born! He was so beautiful that I did not feel any pain, or care what was going on post birth. We were lucky enough to get video and pictures of this blessed event. Although for a short time I thought the pain was going to over take me it was all worth it in the end. The rest of the night was wonderful. I began my journey of being a mother to Kyle.

December 10, 2008

Early (7am) my doctor came in and told me that I could go home any time today. Pat and I went back and forth about when we should go home. We could of stayed another night if we wanted, but why prolong what we will have to do when we go home. BE PARENTS.... and the story continues....

My BABY Shower (10/12/2008)

I thought I should while I am getting used to this "blog" thing talk a little about my baby shower. It was a wonderful event! I was so excited to see all my friends and family again. I want to thank everyone again for all the beautiful gifts that we received for Kyle! We managed to get almost everything that we needed for his nursery. The rest of it we will get with the gift cards that we received. I am sure that we will find out what else is a necessity that we did not think of or had no idea that would need. My mom and sister did a wonderful job on the shower. My mom made the cutest diaper cakes for each center piece and they came out amazing. My sister did invitations that came out awesome and helped with the rest of the shower decorations. It was Classic Pooh themed and all the decorations turned out gorgeous. Thanks again Mom and Andrea!

Here are some more pictures from the shower
http://picasaweb.google.com/huthandr/LeslieSBabyShower#

First Blog

This is my official first blog. I believe that we have everything ready, but am sure that we will learn quickly of the things that we do not. I am 36 weeks this week. I will have my last ultrasound and another non stress test.
